SorceryNet webchat has been updated so our chatters can request a persistent account. These accounts are powered by our self-hosted copy of The Lounge and are useful for people who want their IRC connection, joined channels, and webchat settings to remain available between visits.
This is especially helpful for roleplayers, channel operators, event hosts, and returning community members who use SorceryNet often but do not want to set up a separate IRC client right away.
You can still connect to SorceryNet with your preferred IRC client. The webchat account option is simply a smoother path for people who want browser access with a persistent session.
To request an account, visit sorcery.net/webchat and send the account request form. SorceryNet staff will review requests and reply with setup details.
The webchat login page now also includes a direct account request link, so people who reach the sign-in screen can find the request form without needing to search the site.
